JACKSON TWP — A Cranberry Township woman is accused of lying about her identity during a traffic stop earlier this month.

Morgan A. Leon, 26, was pulled over for allegedly swerving outside the lane of travel by township police at 1:42 p.m. July 7 on Route 68, according to the criminal complaint.

Leon allegedly told the officer that she did not have her license with her and stated that her name was Carley Alexis Leon. When asked for her social security number, she said she could not remember it, the complaint said.

Police observed a suspected empty stamp bag and a box of hypodermic needles in the backseat of the SUV. A canine unit was deployed, but he did not smell an odor of narcotics in or about the vehicle.

Police allegedly discovered Leon’s real name when the passenger in her SUV addressed her as “Morgan.”

On July 11, Leon was charged with felony forgery and misdemeanor counts of identity theft, unsworn falsification to authorities, false report, false identification and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was also charged with multiple summary offenses including driving with a suspended license, careless driving and operating a vehicle without a valid inspection.
