Heckert

Joanne L. Heckert, 79, of Butler passed away Friday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Butler, Jan. 9, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Aretta McCowin Krankota.

She was a graduate of the Butler High School Class of 1948.

A homemaker, she was formerly employed at Troutman's department store.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

She enjoyed bowling and bingo, and she also enjoyed going to the family's camp in Elk County in the Allegheny National Forest.

She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Heckert, to whom she was married for 58 years; one son, Dale J. Heckert of Butler; and two daughters, Diane L. Heckert of Butler and Donna L. Rowe of Butler.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph "Jim" Krankota.

<B>HECKERT</B> — There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian burial for Joanne L. Heckert, who died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
