Paul H. Kramer, 88, of West Sunbury passed away peacefully Wednesday at his home.

He was born Dec. 31, 1920, in Greensburg, the son of the late August Kramer and the late Julia Johnson Kramer.

Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Air Wing in the anti-submarine patrol, having served in World War II from 1942 to 1945.

He was a member of the American Legion, VFW Post 249, the Butler County Treasure Hunters and the Boyers Sportsmen's club.

He enjoyed metal detecting and was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes.

Paul retired from Pullman Standard.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann (Kurpick) Kramer, whom he married Dec. 30, 1946; a daughter, LeeAnn and her husband, George Wick, of Butler; a son, Kennard Kramer and his wife, Donna "Cardi" of West Sunbury; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Yannacci of Darragh; and a brother, Warren Kramer of Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Kramer, who died Wednesday,Jan. 28, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and then from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon Saturday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. The Rev. Joe Barth of the Christian Mission Alliance Church will officiate.
