Charlene Dawn Wilson Rice, 59, of New Castle died Tuesday morning at her home.

Born Nov. 10, 1947, in Butler, she was the daughter of Donald E. and Shirley Klinger Wilson.

A homemaker, she was a former member of the Shenango School Band parents group and had been was involved in Girl Scouting. She was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.

Mrs. Rice was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and the Wesley United Methodist Church, both in New Castle.

Surviving are her husband, Wiliam S. Rice, whom she married Aug. 1, 1965; a daughter, Barbara and Ralph Moses of Edinburg; three sons, Jeffery and Stacey Rice and William and Sherri Rice, and Robert Rice, all of New Castle; her parents of New Castle; a brother and sister and their spouses, Todd and Kari Wilson and Diane and Joe Offie, all of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Lisa Marie Rice and Breann Dawn and Camryn Marie Moses.

She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Mary Rice; her maternal grandparents, Earl and Margaret Klinger, and her paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Pearl Wilson.
