Susan J. Cooper 57, of Parker passed away at 6:45 a.m. Sunday at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, following an extended illness.

Born May 22, 1953, in Butler, she was the daughter of June Armstrong Gardner of Parker and the late Richard Gardner who passed away in 1985.

She was a member of Parker Presbyterian Church, where she served as church custodian for many years.

Susan worked at the former W.A. Moyer and Sons Level Works of Parker for a number of years and more recently assisted with the Community Christian Day Care Center in Emlenton.

Susan was a devoted wife and mother and was affectionately known by her five grandchildren as "MeMe."

Throughout her extended illness, Susan was well respected for her positive attitude, which she had carried with her all through life.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas J. Cooper; her mother of Parker; one daughter, Erin Altman and her husband, Curtis, of Parker; two sons, Thomas R. Cooper and his wife, Shawna, of Parker and Kevin J. Cooper and his fiancee, Alisha Hoover, of Parker; five grandchildren, Alexia Altman and Taylor, Ryan, Zach and Abigail Cooper; two brothers, Rick Gardner of Duluth, Minn., and Jeff Gardner of Virginia; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
