Edward R. Weber Sr.
Edward R. Weber Sr. of Butler died early Thursday morning, surrounded by his family at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.
He was born in Lyndora on Nov. 10, 1925, a son of John and Mary Okarma Weber.
Ed was retired from the Plant 2 shipping department of Butler Armco, where he had worked for 36 years until retiring in 1983.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps during the Korean War period. A life-member of both American Legion Post 778, Lyndora and VFW Post 249 in Butler, he was also a life-member of Butler Moose Lodge 64. And he had been a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
He enjoyed golf and bowling, and mostly trips to the casinos, where he liked to play poker and gamble.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Bauldoff Weber. They were married Oct. 24, 1951 and she died on Oct. 18, 1988. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Bernard and Joseph Weber; and two sisters, Frances and Josephine.
Surviving are five children and their spouses, Edward R. and Nancy Weber Jr. of Chicora, Diana and Randy Rugh of Slippery Rock, Suzan and Charles Enright of Butler, Carol and Mark McCandless of Butler and Patti and Richard Osche of Slippery Rock; one sister, Helen Weber Phillips of Butler; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
WEBER — There will not be a visitation for Edward R. Weber Sr., who died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012. A private memorial service will take place for his family at their convenience.Private inurnment will be at St. John Catholic Cemetery-Coylesville, Fenelton.The family suggests that memorial donations could be made to the Good Samaritan Inpatient Hospice at Concordia in Cabot, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023 .Cremation services were provided by Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
