William R. Crise

William “Bill” R. Crise, 85, of DeQuincy, La., formerly of West Newton in Westmoreland County and Butler, passed away Wednesday in Lake Charles, La.

He was born March 11, 1926, in Greensburg, the son of the late William K. and Teresa Rose (Kirsch) Crise.

Bill graduated from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh, as a mechanical engineer. He was a member of the Tau Beta Pi fraternity, an engineering honor society.

Bill retired from Baldor Electric in Fort Smith, Ark., and he was a member of the DeQuincy United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Flora Jane (Whitehair) Crise; two sons, William K. Crise and his wife, Jane Ann, of Milwaukee, Wis., and the Rev. Jerry Crise and his wife, Sue, of DeQuincy, La.; four grandchildren, Jeff Crise of Monroe, La., Richard Crise of Ruston, La., Eddie Crise of Iowa City, Iowa, and Angela Crise of Cleveland, Ohio.

<B>CRISE</B> — Friends of William “Bill” R. Crise, who died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, were received Saturday in the DeQuincy United Methodist Church followed by a service with the Rev. Weldon Bares officiating. A graveside interment service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, in the West Newton Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Crise, his son, officiating.In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Methodist Children’s Home of Southwest Louisiana, 3029 Beglis Parkway, Sulphur, LA 70663; DeQuincy United Methodist Building Fund, P.O. Box 578 DeQuincy, LA 70633; or the United Methodist Church, 819 E. Silver Spring Drive, Whitefish Bay, WI.The <B>J. William McCauley Jr. Funeral Home</B>, West Newton, is handling the arrangements in Pennsylvania.
