Denslinger

Carl H. Denslinger, 86, of Dutch Hill, Parker, passed away at 9 p.m. Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot following an illness.

Born in Marble, Clarion County, April 17, 1924, he was the son of the late A.E. and Bertha Siegel Denslinger.

Educated at St. Michael Parochial School at Fryburg, he was a member of St. Michael Parish there for many years. He later was a member of the former St. Mary Catholic Church at Parker, and following the closing of the church, he became a member of St. Michael Catholic Church at Emlenton.

An honorably discharged veteran of World War II, he served with the Seabees of the U.S. Navy from April 1944 to April 1946. Discharged with the rank of machinist's mate second class, he earned the European, Pacific and American Theaters of Operation ribbons as well as the Victory Medal.

Carl operated a dairy farm in Licking Township, Clarion County, for many years. While involved with farming, he became a charter member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association of Clarion County and was president for a number of years. Carl also served on various farming and agricultural organizations with the county and state.

Retiring from farming, he became involved with the construction of homes, including his own, and with L. Hepler Building. He worked as a mechanic, including at the former Beatty Auto at Eau Claire.

Carl enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling throughout the United States with lengthy stops visiting sons in Florida and Texas and playing cards.

Surviving are his wife, Arlene Sayers Rose Denslinger, who he married Feb. 14, 1979; three daughters, Julie D. (Michael) Evanish of Mechanicsburg, Jayne (Steve) Barnett of Knox and Wendy Denslinger of Franklin; two sons, Thomas L. (Cindy) Denslinger of Mechanicsburg and Steven E. (Pamela) Denslinger of Denton, Texas; one stepdaughter, Sue (John) Miloszewski of Emlenton; four stepsons, William R. Rose of Emlenton, Christopher A. (Cecilia) Rose of Tampa, Fla., and W. Keith (Trish) Rose and Brian R. (Deedee) Rose, both of Parker; 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Sara and Michelle Denslinger, Lisa (Matthew) Wolf, Jason Evanish, Alicia (Christopher Gravel) Barnett, Emily (Madison) Callaway, Eric (Kendra) Barnett, Senior Airman Amy (Justin) Sabree serving in the U.S. Air Force, Afghanistan, William Daniel (Beth Blanchard) Logue and Carilyn A. (Jeffrey) Strawbridge; five great-grandchildren, Astrid Logue, Makayla and Breanna Callaway, Madeline Strawbridge and Edmund Barnett; nine step-grandchildren, David (Marisa) and Matthew Miloszewski and Jennifer, William, Corey, Tanner, Casey, Kristen and Kodie Rose; four step-great-grandchildren, Zoe, Avery, Sara and Claire Miloszewski; two sisters, Helen Hoover of Fryburg and Blanche Aaron of Oil City; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Lois Holliday Denslinger, who passed Dec. 26, 1976; and by three brothers, Donald, Paul and Walter Denslinger.

<B>DENSLINGER</B> — Friends of Carl H. Denslinger, who died Sunday, April 18, 2010, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, 201 S. Wayne St., Parker. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fryburg, with Father David Poulson, pastor, officiating. Everyone is to meet at the church.
