Sandra Rieger
Sandra “Sandy” Marie Jadlowski Rieger, 59, with her goals in this life accomplished, her earthly journey in this life came to an end Friday. She passed away peacefully at her home in Franklin Township, surrounded by her family.
In mid-February, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Oil City on March 12, 1952, she was the daughter of Rose Marie Collingwood Jadlowski Meyers and John Jadlowski. Brothers and sisters include Lawrence (Denise) Collingwood of Dover, Del., Mary Lou (Merle) Pears of Butler, Gerald Collingwood, Susan (Kenneth) Garris of Butler and Philip Meyers.
She was united in marriage on July 7, 1973, at the Mount Chestnut United Presbyterian Church to Joel J. Rieger.
Sandy was employed at Bobbie Brooks in the 1970s until it closed and Warehouse Sales/Trader Horn. For the past 15 years, she was a bookkeeper at the Saxonburg Agway.
In her younger years, she coached soccer and softball at the Prospect Boys Club and in Tunkhannock, Pa.
She loved bowling on Tuesday nights with her friends on the Jolly Girls League.
She always looked forward to her yearly vacation with family members. She enjoyed hosting cookouts for her family and friends and visiting her relatives in Oil City.
Sandy loved sitting on the back porch in the summer, talking with family and friends. She dearly loved spending time with her grandsons, Eli and Noah. She continued her mothers' tradition of ham gravy and happily passed it on to Lori, for another family to enjoy.
She is survived by her husband, Joel J. Rieger; her daughter, Tricia (Matt) Craig; two sons, Herb (Christine) Rieger and Doug (Amber) Rieger; and two grandsons, Eli and Noah Rieger, all of Butler.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Rose Meyers; her father, John Jadlowski; her stepfather, Oliver Meyers; her brothers, Gerald Collingwood and Philip Meyers; and two nephews.
<B>RIEGER</B> — Visitation for Sandra “Sandy” Marie Jadlowski Rieger, who died Friday, May 20, 2011, will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the <B>Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect.The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Curtis officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mt.
