Virgillia B. "Jill" McEwen, 81 of Cabot died Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 14, 1926, in Glenfield, she was the daughter of Harry G. and Mary Grace Ruettgers Bennett.

She worked as a licensed practical nurse for the Sharon Hospital, the Butler Veterans Medial Center and at Concordia. She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, where she attended the Light of Zion Sunday school class.

She enjoyed reading and canning.

She is survived by her husband Floyd McEwen; three sons, Jerrold (Mary Jo) Shetter of Cabot, James (Christine) Shetter Jr. of Stoneboro, and Jeffrey (Kymberly) Shetter of Creekside; a daughter, Mrs. John (Judith) Crider of Round Hill, Va.; two stepsons, George (Lynn) McEwen of Riviera Beach, Md., and Donald (Fran) McEwen of Cabot; a stepdaughter, Sharon Graham of Butler; two sisters, Mrs. Denny (Virjean) Miller of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Vonalie Bennett of Lancaster, Calif; 13 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Shetter Sr., who died Dec. 22, 1984, and a sister, Victoria Gallagher.

<B>MCEWEN</B> — Friends of Virgillia B. "Jill" McEwen, who died Friday, April 20, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev.
