Eve Terwilliger

Westminster College senior Eve Terwilliger received a grant from the college’s Drinko Center for undergraduate research to investigate two different combinations of chemotherapies.

The Knoch Senior High School graduate’s project, “Investigating Chemotherapeutic Effects on Calcium Location and Nuclear Transport,” researched nuclear transport in the process of cell death as induced by chemotherapies.

Terwilliger, who is a molecular biology major, also investigated the distribution of calcium in the cell to aid her understanding of how the drug treatments affected calcium distribution and nuclear transport.

Several Mars High School band members were selected by solo audition to perform in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District Band Festival.

Students are seniors Tara Brazel who plays French horn; Sarah Grimm who plays clarinet; Jenna Halenda who plays flute; Camryn Reynolds who plays trumpet; Jacob Smith who plays trombone; and junior Katherine Horrocks who plays clarinet.
