Hannah White of Cranberry Township was one of 164 Bloomsburg University student-athletes recognized as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athletes for the 2018-19 academic year. The 164 Huskies join a PSAC-record 3,117 student-athletes from the league’s 17 institutions being named to the list.

Corey Butler of Prospect was among a select group of high school students who fine-tuned their creative writing skills at Susquehanna University’s Writers Workshop July 21 to 27.
For more than three decades, the Writers Workshop has provided talented high school writers with the opportunity to work in intensive, small-group workshops headed by nationally recognized authors.
Butler is a student at Slippery Rock Area High School and is the son of Michael and Jamie Butler of Prospect.

Seneca Valley High School student Jacob Geil of Seven Fields was named the recipient of the National Merit Mary E. Beyerle Scholarship. The sponsor of this award is a trust, established by the estate of Mary E. Beyerle.
Merit Scholarship awards are provided for selected Finalists from Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Jacob’s probable career is in the field of law.
