YOUTH FOOTBALL

Center Township will play South Butler for the Butler Area Midget Football League championship at 7 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park.

A sixth-grade all-star game will precede the contest at 5.

Semifinal results follow:

Center Township 32, East Side 12 — Hunter Hoffman ran 50 yards for a touchdown to give the Rams the early lead. Zach Rader added a score on a 1-yard run and a Mike Hepler interception set up a 2-yard TDrun by Kolby Kriess for an 18-0 lead.Zack Collins extended the lead with a 2-yard TDrun in the third quarter, then added a conversion kick for a 26-0 edge.East Side got on the board in the fourth quarter as Tom Barnhart scored on a 19-yard run, but Hoffman answered with a 54-yard scoring run for Center Township.East Side ended the scoring with a 54-yard touchdown burst by Claude Clark.

South Butler 19, East Butler 12 — Cody West scored on a 2-yard run for South Butler on the game's first possession, then added a conversion run. Canon Roskovski added a 20-yard touchdown run later in the quarter.Jeremy Yennick drew East Butler within 13-6 as he threw a 13-yard scoring pass to Tanner Wahler. But before halftime, Roskovski threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Alston to up the count to 19-6.Alex Younker scored on a 16-yard run for East Butler in the third quarter, and a Dakota Taylor interception ended a South Butler scoring threat in the fourth.ABCYouthBrookville hosts Super Bowl Saturday this weekend. The junior division championship game pits Sabula against Prospect at 2 p.m. while the senior division finale has Brookville facing Shannock Valley at 4 p.m.Brookville plays Moniteau in the junior division consolation game at 10 a.m., followed by the senior division consolation contest between Grove City and Slippery Rock at noon.In the senior division semifinals, Brookville defeated Slippery Rock 44-6 and Shannock Valley downed Grove City, 24-6. In the junior division semifinals, Prospect stopped Brookville 12-8 and Sabula defeated Moniteau, 22-12.
