The Butler Valley Dawgs won the Bantam AAchampionship of the 16th annual Allegheny Hockey Thanksgiving Tournament last weekend at Center Ice in Delmont.

The Dawgs defeated the Pittsburgh Aviators 2-1 in the championship game as Matt Theys scored the game-winner with 1:03 remaining, assisted by Joe Bender and Joe Smith.

Earlier in the tournament, Butler defeated the host Allegheny Badgers 5-3, tied the Aviators 4-4 and defeated the Baltimore Stars, 8-1.

Bender, Theys and Jake Tomasovic scored four goals each during the tournament while Ricky McNulty added three, and Ben McAllister, Cody Siegfried, Smith and Dom DiSanti had one each.
