Cody Bachman had five goals and two assists as the Butler High School junior varsity hockey team defeated Pine-Richland 8-3 at the Ice Connection.

Jake Tomasovic, Matt Bartley and Ben Beers also scored with Tomasovic adding four assists, Jake Whann three and Tim McConahey one. Mike Arturo made 20 saves for Butler (8-7).

Basketball• John Ferguson scored nine points, Noah Ferguson eight points and Joe Farmer six to pace the Butler Catholic junior varsity boys basketball team (5-2) to a 32-27 victory over Christ the Divine Teacher on Saturday.• The Butler Catholic junior varsity girls defeated St. Mary's of Glenshaw 13-4 with Christina Friel scoring five points.Both squads, which are made up of fifth and sixth graders, are in second place in their respective sections.
