The Butler junior high girls track and field team defeated Shaler, 68-59, recently to improve its record to 5-0.

Ava Bonnetti shattered the school record in the shot put with a toss of 37 feet, 4 inches, more than a foot longer than the previous record.

Paige Allen won the 200 meters and ran an impressive split in the Golden Tornado's winning 1,600-meter relay team. Other relay members were Caitlin Blum, Alexa Gray and Rachel Konieczny.

Konieczny won the 400 and 800 meters while Alexis Swiergol won the two-mile.
