Mars man charged with witness intimidation
A man already facing felony charges from an incident last month was arrested Wednesday on new felony charges, including witness intimidation.
Adams Township police arrested and charged Brannon J. Irvin, 34, of Mars, with felony counts of obstruction of child abuse reporting and witness intimidation, as well as misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats and harassment, after he allegedly verbally threatened his neighbor’s life.
District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz arraigned Irvin on Wednesday, and he was placed in Butler County Prison on $100,000 bond.
According to charging documents, police spoke with one of Irvin’s neighbors, who said she encountered Irvin as he was exiting the passenger seat of a car.
“I’m gonna murder you,” said the affidavit about Irvin’s alleged statement. “These are my kids. I’m going to kill you.”
The neighbor told police Irvin’s rant first started with expletive-laden comments accusing her of calling the police last month.
“(The neighbor) believes this is all related to an incident that happened July 11 where Irvin was arrested,” police said.
Charges were filed July 12 against Irvin and his wife, Brittany Irvin, 30, after police said they left their children unattended at their home with their medical marijuana out in the open.
The couple was charged with two felony counts of child endangerment, one misdemeanor count of child endangerment and misdemeanor counts of various drug charges.
The pair had been released on $25,000 unsecured bonds while they await their preliminary hearing for that event, scheduled Aug. 23 before Marcinkiewicz.
According to police, Brannon Irvin’s comments had scared his neighbor enough that she was no longer staying in her home.
“(She) was visibly upset and shaken over the encounter,” police said.
A preliminary hearing for the latest case also is scheduled for Aug. 23 before Marcinkiewicz.
