8:44 p.m. Friday — Mary Brazill, 48, of Butler was arrested for outstanding warrants and was charged with providing false identification to law enforcement after police responded to complaints by Pizza Joe's on Main Street that she used a reported lost or stolen credit card and by Armstrong Cable that a woman identifying herself as Brazill threatened to shoot its employees if her cable was not turned on. After the receiving the complaints, police checked her name and found three outstanding warrants from city police, the Allegheny County Sheriff's office and the Beaver County Sheriff's office. Police found her at her city residence at 528 Carbon St. After providing a false name, she was arraigned before District Judge Sue Haggerty and jailed in Butler County Prison.2:25 p.m. Thursday — Police arrested Jack Miko-Toth, 40, of Butler on an outstanding aggravated assault warrant from city police at Greco Welding on Kittanning Street, where he was working. He was arraigned by District Judge Sue Haggerty and placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond.10:10 a.m. Wednesday — An ambulance owned by Butler Ambulance and driven by Heather Snow, 28, of Butler struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Brian Knepp, 33, of Bigler, Pa., which was stopped for traffic on Jefferson Street. The impact sent Knepp's vehicle into the rear of a pickup driven by Linda Ciochetto, 45, of Butler, that also was stopped on Jefferson Street. Ciochetto, Knepp and his passenger, Ronney Allen, 48, of Morrisdale, Pa., received moderate injuries. Knepp's two other passengers, Ambra Allen, 8, and Nickolas Allen, 6, both of Morrisdale, received minor injuries. All five injured occupants were taken by Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment. Snow and her front seat passenger, Tanya Morin, 32, of Butler were not injured. All seven people were wearing seat belts.1:09 p.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by Dean McBride, 55, of Portersville struck a light post off CDC Drive. He was not injured. McBride told police a number of juveniles ran in front of his vehicle as he was turning off South 6th Avenue, so he swerved to avoid hitting them but could not stop on the wet road. The post was scratched. McBride was cited for not driving at a safe speed and not having insurance.2:53 p.m. Wednesday — A light blue pickup truck with an unknown driver pulled out in front of pickup truck driven by Jeffrey Carson, 48, of Tarentum on East Jefferson Street, causing Carson to swerve into a utility pole. Carson was wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries. No other information was given about the truck.

Thursday — A vehicle driven by Marilyn Gallik, 66, of Prospect and a vehicle driven by Lisa Lema, 45, of Portersville collided on Route 356 next to Point Plaza. Lema's juvenile passenger sustained minor injuries and was taken by Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment. Gallik and Lema were not injured. The Greenwood Village Volunteer Fire Department and state police assisted at the scene.

11:40 a.m. Friday — An SUV driven by David Shelkey Jr., 28, of Chicora struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Christine Jesteadt, 33, of Prospect that was stopped for a turning vehicle on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township. Christine Jesteadt received moderate injuries. Her passenger, Michael Jesteadt, 33, received minor injuries. Shelkey was not injured. All three people were wearing seat belts.9:30 p.m. Thursday — Renee Simons, 40, of Butler was charged with hindering apprehension after police discovered she was concealing the location of a person wanted on an outstanding warrant. She was arraigned before District Judge Sue Haggerty and released on a $3,000 unsecured bond.Thursday — Alyssa Jean Jamison, 20, of Slippery Rock and Benjamin Mauthe, 23, of Slippery Rock were charged with theft by deception after allegedly writing bad checks to Kern Auto Parts on New Castle Road in Franklin Township for parts and attempting to return the parts for a cash refund before the checks cleared.11:44 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Jereme Buffinton, 19, of West Sunbury struck the rear of a minivan driven by Jeanne Zawrotuk, age unavailable, on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township. No injuries were reported.

9:10 p.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Brian Bemish, 30, of Vandergrift struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Sara Wayman, 19, of Cranberry Township on Route 28 in Harmar Township, sending her vehicle across the highway. Wayman and her two passengers, Amanda Livingston, 24, of Cranberry Township and Stacey Scholl, 18, of Baden were all wearing seat belts and received minor injuries. Bemish was not injured.9:59 p.m. July 7 — Shane Yates, 27, of New Bethlehem was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township.

May — State police are investigating the theft of an M16 automatic rifle from the Perry Township Police Department between 8 a.m. Jan. 1 and May 31. Anyone with information about the theft should call police at 724-598-2211.
