Thomas M. Bandura, 83, of Butler passed away peacefully at 9:30 p.m. Friday at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 5, 1929, in East Butler, the son of the late Thomas Bandura and Rose (Chropho) Bandura.

Tom was a member of the St. Wendelin Catholic Church. He retired from Armco after 44 years of service. He also was a veteran of U.S. Army, having served in Korean War.

He loved hunting, golfing and watching and playing baseball. In his early years, he played on many baseball teams. He also enjoyed football.

Surviving are his daughter, Jeannine (Dean) Potts of Butler; two sons, Larry G. (Cindy) Bandura of Manorville and Thomas M. (Janet) Bandura of Butler; seven grandchildren, Brian and Brad Roush, Breanna (Kenneth) Hooks, Tyler Bandura-seminarian, and Kayla and Kelly Bandura; and four great-grandchildren, Lyric, Aleyah, Gage and Brooklynn.

Tom married his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Mennor) Bandura on April 21, 1951, and she survived him by two days.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Ann Coleman; a sister; and four brothers.

BANDURA — Thomas Bandura passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012. Friends of Tom and his wife, Mary, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be held for both at the St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Father Matt McClain officiating. Interment will be in the St. Wendelin Cemetery.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
