All-state track teams announced
Butler’s boys track and field team received several honors with Monday’s release of the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association all-state teams.
Senior CJ Singleton was named first team in the 3,200-meter run and second team in the 1,600.
Teammate Tristan McGarrah, also a senior, made third team in the pole vault as did the Golden Tornado’s 4x800 relay team. The quartet of Sage Vavro, Singleton, Ryder Kriley and Raine Gratzmiller placed third in the state.
Butler head coach Mike Seybert was named the state’s boys coach of the year after the Tornado won the state team title.
Union/A-C Valley sophomore Hayden Smith earned second team in the high jump.
On the girls side, Union/A-C Valley’s Evie Bliss was named third team in the javelin while senior teammate Baylee Blauser was honorable mention in the long jump.
