Marciano McCowan of Evans City was inducted into Hiram's Alpha Society at the 2022 Honor's Convocation, where Hiram recognized students of outstanding achievement.
Alpha Society is one of Hiram's highest academic honors. Membership is limited to students who have completed 12 or more hours of graded coursework at Hiram College and whose cumulative grade point average is 3.75 or better.
Butler native Christopher Shields, a student at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla., placed second nationally in the IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) Simulator event, ninth nationally in the SCAN (Simulated Comprehensive Aircraft Navigation) event and 13th nationally in the Unlimited Navigation Event during the National Collegiate Flight competition at Ohio State University last month.
He is the son of Suzanne and Carl Shields of Butler.

Reagan Quinn of Saxonburg, a junior at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, was inducted into the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society last month.
She is the daughter of John and Holly Quinn of Saxonburg and the granddaughter of Bruce and Judy Kennedy of Valencia.
