F. Harold Hancox Sr.
F. Harold Hancox Sr., 82, of Canfield, Ohio, died Dec. 1 in Ravenwood, W.Va.
Born June 29, 1924, in Watervielete, N.Y., he was the son of Kenneth A. and Irene E. Van Hoesen Hancox.
He was a World War II Army veteran and retired as the chief executive officer of the Dorrance Supply Co.
Mr. Hancox was a member of the J.W. Ford Hose Co. 2 in Waterford, N.Y., the Canfield Volunteer Fire Department, and was employed with the Lane Ambulance Co. He also was a Canfield auxiliary police officer and served as a bailiff in the Canfield Courts.
He was also a member of the Western Mahoning County Kiwanis Club, the American Legion Post in Canfield and was the past president of the Plantation Park Campers Association in Mercer.
Surviving are his wife, Edna DeWitt Hancox, whom he married Feb. 2, 1947; two children, Alicia and her husband, Donald, Macmillan of Slippery Rock and Fred Hancox, Jr. and his companion, Kay Balcon, of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Effie and her husband, John, Piacente of Waterford, N. Y.; five grandchildren, Jennifer Hancox, Natalie (Jeff) Enslen, Ian (Desiree) Macmillan, Sara (Charles) Flach and Sean (Melissa) Macmillan; and seven great-grandchildren, Kayla and Krista Enslen, Hailey and Makenna Macmillan and Shanna, Ashlyn and Braden Flach.
