Richard Graham, Emlenton leader
Richard B. "Dick" Graham, 87, of Emlenton died at 9:40 a.m. Friday at North Hills Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.
Born Dec. 3, 1919, in Emlenton, he was the son of Harry C. and Lulu Barnard Graham.
He owned the Graham Lumber Co., now the McNany Lumber Co., in Emlenton for years. He was the co-owner with M.R. Lynn of the Lazy Oil Co. in Emlenton.
He served on the board of directors of the Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department and was treasurer of the fire department for 47 years. He also served for years as a driver for the Emlenton Area Ambulance Service.
He was an Emlenton Borough councilman, an Emlenton Area Municipal Authority member and was founding member of the Emlenton Area Chamber of Commerce.
He was a member of the Foxburg Country Club, serving on the club's board of governors, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Tulsa, Okla. He was active in the Boy Scouts and Explorer troops in both Tyler, Texas, and Emlenton.
He was a member of the Emlenton Presbyterian Church.
He was a graduate of Emlenton High School and Penn State University, where he majored in accounting and was a member of Phi Delta Omega.
Mr. Graham was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, where he attained the rank of second lieutenant senior grade.
Surviving are his wife, Leah R. Graham, whom he married Aug. 28, 1982; a son, Steve Graham and his wife, Ruth, of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Kathy Wilson and her husband, Don, of Camp Hill; three grandchildren, Christopher Graham of Slippery Rock, Terri Kathleen "Tiki" Kahle of Knox and Kim Riley and her husband, Luke, of Knox; two great-grandchildren, Molly and Rachel Riley of Knox; a stepdaughter, Cindi Seger and her husband, Fred, of Tucson, Ariz.; a stepson, Jay Bradly Servey and his friend, Jennifer Krill, of Tucson, Ariz; and a stepgrandson, P.J. Servey of Lexington, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanne Taylor Graham, who died July 2, 1980; a twin brother, Harry Graham; and a sister, Carol Graham McFate.

"Dick" Graham, who died Friday, June 15, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the <B>Hile Funeral Home,</B> 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lori Danielson, pastor of Emlenton Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial with honors accorded by the Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department will take place in Emlenton Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the Emlenton Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
