Robert J. 'Boob' Skrak
Robert John “Boob” “Bob” Skrak, 88, of Prospect passed away late Tuesday evening at his home, three days before his 89th birthday.
He was born May 25, 1923, in North Braddock, and he was the son of Michael “Nick” and Anna Kohler Skrak.
Mr. Skrak was a member of the St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Prospect.
Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific from November 1943 to November 1945. He was in the 6th Marine Division, 22nd Marines with landings in Guam in 1944 and Okinawa, Japan, in 1945. He was a member of the VFW Post 249 of Butler and a life member of American Legion Post 417 in Prospect.
He was retired from the trucking industry. Bob then re-entered the work force and worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in Butler for 15 years. He last worked at Shults Ford in Wexford, where he enjoyed being the courtesy car driver.
He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He also enjoyed his coffee breaks and friends at Rock Ann Haven every morning.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille M. Sechan Skrak, who he married on July 10, 1948; his five children, Susan E. (Ray) Taimuty of Prospect, Robert James “Jim” Skrak of Prospect, Rosanne K. (Robert) McLaughlin of Prospect, Christine (Javier Nevia) Skrak of Seattle and Kathleen (Mark) D'Adamo of Barrington, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; Raylan (Christopher) Blaisdell, Janel (Ryan) Meier, Rene (Patrick) Busa, R.J. McLaughlin, Alicia McLaughlin, Chay (April) Skrak, Ramey (Flint) Skrak-Chandler, Breehan (Jake) Skrak-Belluso, Brenhan Skrak, Nicola Skrak and Blaz D'Adamo; four step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and his brother-in-law, Robert (Ida Mae) Sechan of Portersville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Roxanne Busa.

Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 229 N.
