Saturday — Police reported James Fresh, 39, of Parker was charged with driving under the influence stemming from an Aug.19 crash in which he allegedly struck two cars parked on Jefferson Street.
7:27 p.m. Monday — Lisa Janoski, 25, of Cabot was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her pickup truck struck a tree along Main Street in Saxonburg. Police said Janoski fled the scene, leaving the damaged vehicle behind; however, she was found a short time later on Main Street.4:35 a.m. Monday — Marissa Halchak, 21, of North Huntington, Westmoreland County, was arrested for suspicion of DUI after her car struck a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township.Monday — Henry Skocz said someone between 11 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday stole the white, plastic vents off a car at his Lake Arthur Estates home in Muddy Creek Township.7:45 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Kylie Kozora, 20, of Cabot struck a utility pole along Bicker Road in Winfield Township. Police said Kozora was cited for careless driving.Sunday — Thirty-two people were stopped for speeding during an aerial speed enforcement operation on Route 422 in Butler Township. Township police assisted state police in the detail conducted between 10:20 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. Police noted that in all, 37 citations and three warnings were issued.10 p.m. Saturday — An unknown driver struck a well head at a Clearfield Road home in Clearfield Township, and did not stop following the accident. The suspect's unidentified vehicle is believed to be a car, possibly with wood panel sides.8:45 p.m. Saturday — An Armstrong County man was seriously injured when the sport utility vehicle he was driving struck an embankment and rolled over on Fenelton Road in Clearfield Township.Ronald E. Flick, 47, of Cadogan was flown by medical helicopter with head injuries suffered in the wreck. Police noted that alcohol appears in be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.12:20 p.m. Saturday—No one was injured in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on Route 8 near Unionville Road in Center Township.Police said the crash occurred when acar driven by Shelia Matambanadzo, 49, of Slippery Rock struck the rear of a car driven by Dale Bensema, 55, of Greensburg, Westmoreland County. The collision, in turn, pushed Bensema's car into a sport utility vehicle driven by Martha Dailey, 73, of Cowansville, Armstrong County.1:55 a.m. Saturday — Ryan Weaver, 35, of Saxonburg was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 422 in Butler Township.1:20 a.m. Saturday — Acar driven by Bradley Seidel, 26, of Mercer crashed into a ditch and rolled onto its side on Branchton Road in Washington Township. Police said Seidel suffered unknown injuries in the crash.12:54 a.m. Saturday — John L. Patterson, 47, of West Sunbury was arrested for allegedly assaulting Jarrod Patterson, 18, of West Sunbury following a domestic dispute at a Hunt Road home in Clay Township. The elder Patterson is charged with simple assault and harassment.Saturday — Police arrested Richard LeGrand, 46, for allegedly assaulting his wife, Barbara LeGrand, during a domestic dispute between 12:30 and 3 a.m. at the couple's Chicora Road home in Summit Township.Police said Barbara LeGrand suffered bruises to her arms and chest in the altercation.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Richard LeGrand on charges of simple assault and harassment; he remains in the Butler County Prison on $25,000 bond.4:28 p.m. Friday — Acar driven by Tera Burk, 27, of Butler and a motorcycle driven by Deborah Miller, 53, of Butler collided on Main Street in West Sunbury. Police said Miller, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries.3:06 p.m. Friday — Acar driven by Ashley Leighton, 20, of Chicora and an SUV driven by Shirley Flynn, 56, of Slippery Rock collided at Route 8 and Muddy Creek Drive in Clay Township.1:45 p.m. Friday — An unidentified white semi-tractor and a car collided on Interstate 79 at the Route 108 on-ramp in Worth Township. Police said the unknown driver of the rig did not stop after the crash.Friday — Apurse and collection of coins were stolen between 1:30 and 1:50 a.m. in a burglary at the Main Street apartment of Rosemary Heitzer in Saxonburg.Friday — Police said Kelly Delynn Howard, 22, of Hilliards was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after she was found Aug. 11 allegedly overdosed at a Brick Road home in Washington Township.3 p.m. Thursday — An SUV driven by Katelynn Doyle, 17, of Butler struck the rear of a mini-van on Knoch Road at Knoch High School in Jefferson Township. The collision forced the van, driven by Amy Short, 37, of Saxonburg into the rear of a car driven by James Confer III, 17, of Cabot.Police said that Short and Confer were stopped in their vehicles as school was being let out. Short was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries Police said Doyle was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.4:40 p.m. Wednesday — AProspect woman was seriously injured when the motorcycle she was driving crashed into a guardrail, throwing her off the bike and into a tree along Route 422 near Mitchell Hill Road in Summit Township.Sandra Coburn, 38, who was wearing a helmet, was flown by medical helicopter to an unknown Pittsburgh Hospital; her condition was not known this morning.1:30 p.m. Aug. 28 — A car driven by Abbey Taylor, 17, of Butler struck an embankment and hit several trees along West Jefferson Road in Jefferson Township.8:25 a.m. Aug. 27 — A 16-year-old driver, who police did not identify, was cited for a lane violation after the Butler youth's car struck a guardrail on Route 422 near Route 528 in Franklin Township.Aug. 24 — A 2000 EZ-GO golf cart was stolen between Aug. 12 and 24 from a campsite at the Slippery Rock Campground in Worth Township. John Halbleib of West Mifflin, Allegheny County, owns the stolen property.Aug. 22 — Nine long guns valued at $2,915 were reported stolen in a burglary between Aug. 20 and 22 at the May Lane home of Marcia Simms in Forward Township.Police said the stolen guns include seven rifles, Remington, Winchester and Savage models, and two 12-gauge Mossburg shotguns. One of the rifles was equipped with a Bushnell scope.
Aug. 28 — Unknown burglars left empty-handed after fleeing a North Buffalo Township house when the owner returned home.Paul Treacy told police he left a door unlocked to his South Harbison Street home. He was gone between 7:30 and 8:45 p.m.; when he returned, the burglars were still inside. The suspects dropped several items taken from the master bedroom and ran out the rear door.State Police, MercerFriday — Approximately $625 in items were shoplifted between 10 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. at the Bath & Body Works store, Prime Outlets in Springfield Township, Mercer County. Police apparently have no suspects.6:26 p.m. Aug. 28 — Two unknown woman allegedly shoplifted a pair of boots valued at $120 at the Nine West store, Prime Outlets in Springfield Township, Mercer County.
9:58 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Shawn Butera, 27, of New Castle crashed and rolled over on Frew Mill Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Police said Butera, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
