State senators representing Butler County in the Pennsylvania General Assembly have been appointed chairmen of various standing committees.

Sen. Elder Vogel Jr., R-47th, was appointed chairman of the agriculture and rural affairs committee. Sen. Scott Hutchinson, R-21st, was named chairman of the finance committee. Sen. Joe Pittman, R-41st, was appointed chairman of the urban affairs and housing committee.
