A section of Eau Claire Road in Venango Township has been shut down as a result of a vehicle accident in which at least two individuals are reportedly seriously injured.

According to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch reports, two vehicles and two female occupants are involved in the crash, one of whom was described as “unresponsive” and the other sustaining a leg injury.

At least one helicopter has been called to the scene.

Dispatch reports indicate emergency crews have shut down a section of Eau Claire Road around the McJunkin Road intersection.

According to state police, the scene was “still very active” as of 5:20 p.m. and no further information was available beyond officers were “investigating a two vehicle crash at that location with injuries.” Butler County Coroner Korynne Young told the Butler Eagle the coroner’s office had been made aware of the incident, but had not yet been called to the scene.
