12:10 p.m. Saturday — Two men are accused in connection with the theft of 20 silver collector coins from the E&S Variety Shop on South Main Street. The coins later were sold to a Center Township jewelry store.Police said a surveillance camera in the Butler store caught the theft of the property, valued at $318. The suspects allegedly sold the coins for $90.Shawn D. Fennell, 32, of Penn Township and Brian D. Lambing, 35, of Butler are charged in the case with theft of deception and conspiracy. Lambing is charged with retail theft.Saturday — An unknown would-be burglar overnight tried unsuccessfully to force in and pry open a rear basement door at a home in the 300 block of North Monroe Street.3:52 p.m. Friday — A woman claimed someone broke into an unlocked South Cliff Street apartment and took $30 that was on a table. The woman told police that she was out of the apartment from 3 to 3:30 p.m. when the money was taken.July 27 — An attempted burglary was reported at Belleville International on East Cunningham Street. The break-in try between midnight July 25 and noon July 27 failed, police said.1:57 a.m. July 23 — Adam J. Colligan, 24, of East Brady, Clarion County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car hit a utility pole along Pillow Street.In addition to DUI, Colligan faces charges of possessing drug paraphernalia and driving at an unsafe speed.
12:50 p.m. Saturday — Sport utility vehicles driven by Paul R. Dodd, 25, of Slippery Rock and Thomas Baldy, 53, of Monroeville, Allegheny County, collided at Slippery Rock and Stoughton roads in Slippery Rock Township.Three of the Baldy's passengers — Vicki Baldy, 52, of Monroeville; and John Willison, 55, and Susan Willison, 52, both of Cranberry Township — were treated at Grove City Medical Center for minor injuries.Dodd, police said, was cited for a stop sign violation and other traffic offenses.4 a.m. Saturday — Holli Anne Rae Ehrmentrout, 21, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her vehicle went off the road and got stuck in a creek along Winfield Road in Winfield Township.1:55 a.m. Saturday — Teresa Joanne Guiste, 34, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 8 in Clay Township.Saturday — An unknown burglar stole a small amount of money after climbing through an upstairs window in a burglary at a home in the 400 block of North Duffy Road in Center Township. The burglary occurred between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.Saturday — Police said a suspected trespasser was caught at the scene of the alleged crime — sleeping.The suspect, Nicholas Joe Campbell, 26, of Meridian, is suspected of forcing open a window to a patient's room at the Chicora Medical Center in Donegal Township and getting inside.Campbell, according to authorities, apparently wasn't looking to take anything—except a nap. Police said he went to sleep in a chair in the patient's room. The snoozing suspect faces charges of trespass, criminal mischief and public drunkenness.3:55 a.m. Friday — Samuel E. Moore, 27, of Slippery Rock lost control of his SUV during a heavy rainstorm and struck a tree along West Park Road in Worth Township. Slippery Rock volunteer firefighters had to extricate Moore from the wreckage.Moore, who was wearing a seat belt and suffered serious injuries, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Police said Moore, who was listed Sunday in fair condition, was cited for careless driving.6:45 p.m. Thursday — Three people were hurt, two seriously, when a van and car collided on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.Carmen Cananzi, 27, of Rochester, Beaver County, who was driving the car, and his passenger, Amanda Kamicker, 25, of Beaver Falls, Beaver County, were taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with serious injuries.Van driver Michael Cloen, 66, of Cheektowaga, N.Y., suffered minor injuries. All those injured were wearing seat belts; their conditions were not known this morning.The crash occurred, police said, when Cloen lost control of his northbound van on the wet road. The vehicle crossed over the grass median and struck the southbound car head-on. Both vehicles slammed into the guardrail after the collision.Police said Cloen was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Wednesday — An unknown thief stole a Butler woman's purse at the Cooper's Lake Campground in Muddy Creek Township. The purse was taken between 10 a.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday during the annual Pennsic War event at the campground.1:50 a.m. July 18 — Irene Cypher, 51, of Fenelton was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Pine Drive and Geibel Road in Summit Township.
5:49 p.m. Thursday — Bruce L. Brown, 32, of Rimersburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a brief police chase in Madison Township.Police said the chase began on Sarah Furnace Road when Brown did not stop. Troopers deployed spike strips, which flattened all four tires and ended the pursuit on Fryer Point Road.Police said Brown was searched and found with suspected marijuana. He was arraigned on charges of DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude police, and possession of marijuana, and placed in the Clarion County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.
2 a.m. Sunday — A pickup driven by Michael J. Jadlocki, 30, of Parker slammed into a ditch on Henry's Bend Road in President Township. Police said Jadlocki fled the scene. A passenger, David Beighley, 41, of Leeper, Clarion County, suffered minor injuries.Police said Jadlocki faces charges of driving at an unsafe speed and other traffic offenses.9 p.m. Saturday — A pickup driven by Aaron J. Kaylor, 32, of Clintonville and a car driven by Justin W. Hovis, 26, of Kennerdell collided on Coal Valley Road in Clinton Township. Police said Kaylor was cited for careless driving.
July 14 — A former tenant is accused of stealing a washing machine, dryer and refrigerator from a mobile home she was renting in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. Police did not identity the 48-year-old woman suspected of taking the property, valued at $1,400, between June 21 and July 14.
1:50 p.m. Saturday — Three people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash on Route 66 near Huson Road in Manor Township.The crash occurred when a sport utility vehicle driven by Kurt D. Zimmerman, 55, of Kittanning hit the rear of a car driven by Eva E. Jack, 64, of Ford City. The collision spun the car into an SUV driven by Curt D. Riddle, 30, of Worthington.Jack was taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning with moderate injuries. Corron Hillwig, 29, of Worthington and Rhonda M. Potts 25, of Ford City, both passengers in Riddle's vehicle, were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Police said Zimmerman was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.1:41 p.m. Friday — An SUV driven by Deborah L. Norris, 61, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, and a car driven by Zachary Harkleroad, 17, of Ford City collided on Route 28 in Buffalo Township, Butler County. Police said Norris was cited for failure to yield.9:33 a.m. Wednesday — A pickup driven by Misty Autumn Hamersley, 25, of Butler rolled over twice after crashing on a gravel median divider on Route 422 at the West Hills exit in East Franklin Township.Lisa Ann Hamersley, 45, of Avonmore, Westmoreland County, a passenger, was taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning with minor injuries. Autumn Hamersley was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
