[naviga:h3]5 docs get OK to prescribe marijuana[/naviga:h3]

Five Butler County doctors have been approved by the state Office of Medical Marijuana as “approved practitioners” after completing both practitioner registration and the required state training to prescribe medical marijuana.

They may now issue prescriptions to patients with one of the 17 “serious medical conditions” defined by state law. The local doctors are: Andrew Adams, M.D., internal medicine, Saxonburg; Bryan Doner, D.O., emergency medicine, Butler; Connie Anderson, D.O., Sarver; Dillon Stein, D.O., hospice and palliative medicine, Butler; and Jerome Scherer, D.O., family medicine, Valencia.

[naviga:h3]2 AK workers hurt in accident[/naviga:h3]

BUTLER TWP — Two AK Steel employees were injured Monday morning in an accident in the plant’s North Processing department at Butler Works.

The injuries occurred about 9:20 a.m. when an electrical panel malfunction, according to Lisa Jester, AK Steel spokesman. One of the workers suffered a “small area of superficial burns,” she said in an e-mail statement

Both injured employees were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for evaluation. A third employee, Jester said, was evaluated by on-site medical staff and later returned to work,

The company did not identify the employee and released no other information.
