Annual Tree Gallery brightens center in Cranberry Township

The CTCC Tree Gallery features trees decorated by various nonprofit organizations and community groups throughout the Cranberry area.

CRANBERRY TWP — In its ninth year, the Cranberry Township Community Chest's Tree Gallery is brightening the halls of the municipal center and giving extra attention to community groups.

This year, 30 nonprofit groups are participating by decorating trees to represent their group's mission, said Cindy Marzock, a CTCC board member.

Trees dotting the halls of the municipal center will remain through the end of December.

“The trees give the building a sort of seasonal enchantment,” Marzock said. “Everyone responds to it — staff, visitors, delivery people and especially little kids.”

Karen Faust, president of the Southern Butler County Garden Club, said this is the seventh year the club has participated in the gallery.

Members decorated their tree with dried flowers, garden-related ornaments and included business cards for their club so people can take them and learn more about the group.

“We just do it all with our natural products … we've had a great time doing it,” Faust said. “We have a group of ladies that look forward to it every year.”

In addition to the tree gallery, Faust said they also worked with the CTCC on its Project of the Year. The club recently planted 320 pink daffodil bulbs in the community garden at the SportCourts at Graham Park.

Additionally, the CTCC donates $50 to each participating organization at the beginning of the year, Marzock said.

This year participating groups include:
