Man, 30, to serve 3-6 years for role in gun theft

A 30-year-old repeat felon will serve 3 to 6 years behind bars for his role in stealing seven guns.

Chad Eric Heasley Jr., 30, of Russellton, Allegheny County, pleaded guilty June 5 to conspiracy, burglary and theft, all felonies. He was sentenced Thursday in county court by Judge William Shaffer.

Charges stem from a July 2018 incident in which Heasley and two others allegedly stole seven guns — including two shotguns, two rifles and three handguns — and 600 rounds of ammunition from an Adams Township home.

Two other suspects also were arrested for the theft. Krystal Dannu, 32, of Butler, faces similar counts in connection with the crime. Her case is ongoing, with court appearances scheduled in August. She is out on an unsecured $6,000 bail.

Brian Lugin, 33, of McKees Rocks, also faces similar charges. He is case is scheduled to appear in court in July, and is being held in Butler County Prison.
