Devan McDaniels

A man currently serving state prison time pleaded guilty to heroin distribution and was immediately sentenced in Butler County Court on Tuesday.

Devan F. McDaniels, 24, pleaded guilty to felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance — heroin — before Judge Timothy McCune.

McCune then sentenced him to 18 to 40 months in state prison, restitution, to pay court costs and $250 in fines. The sentence is also set to run concurrently with a Mercer County sentence, on which McDaniels is currently serving 2 to 4 years in prison.

McDaniels was initially charged with two felony possession with intent counts after an incident on April 11, 2016.

The affidavit of probable cause states that McDaniels sold an informant a bundle, or 10 packets, of heroin for $100, after picking up the informant in the parking lot of Shop 'N Save, 1189 Freedom Road, Cranberry Township. The informant was then driven to the area of his home and dropped off, and turned over the drugs to police, the document states.
