SLIPPERY ROCK — North Country Brewing has issued a voluntary recall of some canned products that were packaged between July 1 and Sept. 15.

In a notice posted online, the company said that the recall comes after unspecified problems with its canning line.

“We have recognized some issues with our canning line and due to those issues, we have announced a voluntary recall,” the statement reads, in part. “The affected cans exhibit off flavors associated with oxidation.”

North Country said it had issued the recall and stopped distribution of all products that could have been impacted “because we are unable to pinpoint exactly how many or which products from that time are affected.”

The company said it was also working with its distributor and retailers to pull the affected products from store shelves.

The recalled products are 12 ounce cans of Firehouse Red; Bucksnort Stout; Stinky Hippie Pale Ale; Paleo IPA; Slimy Pebble Pils; Late Night Pumpkin Ale; Ryeparian Rye Pale Ale; and Bucco Blonde.

The company said customers who have purchased the affected beer can exchange it for newly canned products or full compensation of the purchase price.

People can bring empty or full cans of the affected products to the company’s production facility at 111 Arrowhead Drive, Unit B., Slippery Rock.

The company said there was “absolutely no risks to health or safety concerns,” associated with the recall.

The recall does not effect any cans packaged before July 1 and after Sept. 15. That includes 95 Nails Lager, Jack Frost Winter Warmer, Zombie Bed, Moko Jumbie and Bourbon Barrel Aged Late Night.
