Betty Jane Bash
Betty Jane Bash, 89, of Sarver passed away at 1:25 a.m. Friday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born May 6, 1923, in Brackenridge to the late Richard Boardman and Carrie (Hill) Geahry.
Mrs. Bash was a 1942 graduate of Winfield High School. She worked at Du-Co Ceramics in Saxonburg during World War II.
She was a homemaker and was an active member of the Sarver Wesleyan Methodist Church for more than 50 years, where she served as a Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, YM WB superintendent, WMS treasurer and janitor. Mrs. Bash was a current member of the Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church for more than 10 years and served as a member of the Women's Missionary Society and Friendship Circle.
Mrs. Bash enjoyed being outside, doing yard work and watching the birds. She also enjoyed her “grand dogs,” 'Lil Star and Buddy. She spent her life devoted to and serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Bash is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. Bash of Butler and Brenda L. Bash of Cabot; one half-brother, Charles H. Geahry of Stockton, Calif.; one stepsister, Emily Garvey of Falls Church, Va.; two grand dogs, 'Lil Star and Buddy; her loving and loyal caregivers, Hazel Fern and Helen McLafferty of Saxonburg; and the Samuel Hostetler family of Dayton, Pa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George J. A. Bash, who she married June 25, 1948, and who passed away Dec. 25, 2005; one stepbrother, Carl Boardman; two sisters, Frances (Boardman) Edwards Weaver and Marion (Geahry) Murray; and one nephew, Gerald L. Edwards.
BASH — Friends of Betty Jane Bash, who died Friday, June 29, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church, 590 Protzman Road, Butler.Funeral services will be Tuesday at the church following the visitation with the Rev. Richard Price, the Rev. James Lynn and the Rev. Steve Beveridge officiating. Burial will take place in the Mt.
