[naviga:h3]South Butler bus involved in crash[/naviga:h3]

A South Butler School District bus transporting elementary school students was involved in an accident on Rockdale Road in Penn Township on Friday.

The accident occurred around 4:20 p.m., and no one was injured. It was caused by the driver of an SUV, according to Cpl. Denny Crawford.

Crawford said medical personnel were evaluating the driver to determine if a medical condition caused her to lose control of the vehicle.

[naviga:h3]Paper shredding event scheduled[/naviga:h3]

State Rep. Jim Marshall, R-14th, will be hosting a free paper shredding event from 9 to 11 a.m. on Sept. 9 at the Zelienople Airport on Route 588.

On-site document shredding will be provided by Iron City Workplace Services, and the event is sponsored by Range Resources.

Residents who plan on taking advantage of the free service should note:

No large binder clips or hardbound covers will be accepted.

Materials more than 1 inch thick will need to be broken down before being put through the machine. Staff will be available to assist.

Materials may be transported to the event in boxes, bags or plastic tubs; however, only paper and cardboard will be handled by the shredding company.

There is a limit of four boxes, or the equivalent, per vehicle.

[naviga:h3]Forecast changes day for fireworks[/naviga:h3]

SEVEN FIELDS — Due to rain in the forecast on Saturday, the fireworks and performance by the band Velveeta are being moved to Sunday at the borough’s Community Day Carnival. Velveeta will play from 6 to 10 p.m. and fireworks by Pyrotecnico will go off at 10 p.m. Sunday.

The Doug Edgell Band that was scheduled to play Sunday has been canceled.
