ADAMS TWP — A short stretch of Mars-Evans City Road will close for four days later in October, according to a state Department of Transportation spokesman.

The closure will be from 7 a.m. Oct. 21 through 5 p.m. Oct. 24 at the railroad tracks between Black Rock Boulevard and Jones Lane.

Contractors of the Buffalo and Pittsburgh Railroad will replace the train tracks and approaches to the tracks at that crossing, said PennDOT’s Deborah Casadei.

Traffic heading north toward Evans City will be rerouted to Route 228, then to Myoma Road, and back onto Mars-Evans City Road.

Motorists traveling south toward Mars will turn onto Myoma Road, then onto Route 228 to get to Mars.

The entire length of Mars-Evans City Road was milled and paved this summer, and drainage was improved along the roadside.
