CONNOQUENESSING TWP — A man is accused of deliberately ramming his car into a vehicle occupied by his estranged wife and her boyfriend.

State police arrested Gregory D. Beer, 47, of Center Township on felony assault and other charges in the pre-dawn vehicular altercation Wednesday on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township.

At about 4:30 a.m., Beer repeatedly drove his Ford Focus into the back of a Ford Explorer that his wife was driving, according to court documents. Her boyfriend was a passenger in the Explorer.

Police in their criminal complaint noted that Gregory and Christy Beer are married but separated.

After allegedly hitting his wife's vehicle “numerous times,” Beer followed her vehicle into the parking lot of the Sheetz convenience store on Route 68, where he rammed the SUV “several more times,” according to court documents.

Gregory Beer then drove away. Police later arrested him at his home, where they found his car in the garage.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.

District Judge Wayne Seibel arraigned Beer on two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. He also was cited for careless driving and reckless driving.

He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail following arraignment. His preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 21 at Seibel's office in Evans City.
