WINFIELD TWP — Route 356 between Riemer Road and Winfield Road was closed this morning and some electric service was interrupted when a pickup truck hit a utility pole around 8:30 a.m.

Police said they expected to open a lane later this morning, but that traffic interruptions would continue for hours while a new pole is installed and wires restrung.

The driver of the truck was not injured, rescuers said.

Winfield Township Volunteer Fire Company and state police responded to the scene.
