SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University President Cheryl Norton has had her contract extended a second time.

The State System of Higher Education Board of Governors voted Thursday to extend Norton’s contract through June 2019. The vote also included the contracts of nine other university presidents.

Her salary is $225,000.

Last June trustees at SRU praised Norton, who took over as president in 2012, and recommended that her contract be extended.

In 2014, Norton had her contract extended by the board through June 2017.

University presidents initially receive a three year, rolling contract which is subject to annual review.
