Michael S. Dancisin
Michael S. Dancisin, 88, of Butler, passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born March 15, 1938, in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Michael Dancisin and Mary Kocsis Dancisin.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Michael was a member of the U.S. Navy Drill Team.
Michael was a general foreman at Allied Signal Company. He previously had been employed as a foreman at Pullman Standard and at Honeywell.
Michael was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, where he served as Cantor.
A private pilot, Michael belonged to the Butler County Pilots Association, the Ultra-Light Club, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Butler County Sheriff’s Aero Posse and the Experimental Aircraft Association.
He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association, the National Harley Owners Group, Local Butler Chapter HOG 4192, the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club, the Butler Farm Show Association and AARP.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Nancy L. Lawrence Dancisin, whom he married Oct. 9, 2004; and five children, all of whom live in Vero Beach, Fla.: Michael J. Dancisin and his wife, Lisa, Michelle Potter and her husband, Buddy, Katie Bello and her husband, Juan, René Koppelman and her husband, Kevin, and Jacqueline Ripple and her husband, James.
He is also survived by two stepsons, Jason W. Swope and his wife, Catherine, of Greensburg, Pa., and Zachary L. Swope and his wife, Gretchen, of Baden, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ethel Tomayko.
DANCISIN — Friends of Michael S. Dancisin, who died Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with Parastas at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, in MARTIN FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora, with the Rev. Radko Blichar officiating.
Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by American Legion Post 778, VFW Post 249 and VFW Post 499.
