Peggy Welker
Peggy Welker, 83, of Butler, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home.
She was born May 4, 1943, in Harmony, daughter of the late Louis Hardie and the late Vada Fry Hardie.
Peggy graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1961. She worked at the downtown Hoagie Shop in Butler. Peggy also did house cleaning and worked at the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church for 25 years, retiring in 2008. In the 1970s, she was a member of the Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Company. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, where she was head deaconess and head of AWANA for nine years along with children’s ministries. Peggy enjoyed doing arts, crafts and scrapbooking.
Peggy is survived by her three daughters, Tina (Brian) Alben, Sandra (Ralph) Stewart and Donna (Jim) Asche; nine grandchildren, Samuel Moore, Marsha Moore, Melissa (Teddy) Weaver, Erik (Rachel) Stewart, Monica (Josh) Gongloff, Josiah (Libby) Asche, Isaiah (Kayla) Asche, Elijah Asche and Noah Asche; six great-grandchildren, Raila, Justin, Devon, Roen, Harper and Eliza, and one more on the way; four brothers, Tom Hardie, Skip (Lillian) Hardie, John (Sheila) Hardie and Dan (Juanita) Hardie; five sisters, Shirley Dunlevy, Judy (Joe) Morris, Sally Hardie, Jo Ann Hardie and Debbie (Gene) George; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Leland Welker; ex-husband, Edward Welker; three brothers, Bud, Bill and Alan Hardie; two sisters, Bonnie Christy and Janet Hardie, and an infant sister, Diane Hardie.
WELKER — Friends of Peggy Welker, who died Tuesday, July 21, 2026, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way- Fared Drive, Butler.
Funeral services will be held immediately following at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Richard Jenks officiating.
Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way-Fared Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
