John Steiner
John L. Steiner, 80, of West Sunbury, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026.
He was born in Boyers on April 19, 1946, son of the late Stephen and Anne (Kinkela) Steiner.
John graduated from Moniteau High School in 1964 and honorably served in the Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971.
John worked at Pullman Standard until 1981, was the owner of Steiner’s Landscaping and Nursery and he also owned and operated J & P Farms with his partner, the late Patricia Nelson.
John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love for the outdoors with his family and friends. He enjoyed large and small game hunting, fishing, trapping, arrowhead hunting, gardening and camping.
He was the father of Jon “Eric” (Amy) Steiner and Jennifer Stroup; grandfather of Kelsey and Kylie (Nate McDonald) Simons, Zetta Stroup, Maya Laskowsky, Michael (Jamie) Steiner and Nick (Eleecia Smith) Holdread; and great-grandfather of RyaJo Simons, Emersyn and Kennedy Steiner, Morgan Dalton and Remington and Braelynn Holdread. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and partner; John was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Steiner.
STEINER — All services for John L. Steiner, who died Monday, July 13, 2026, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
