PennDOT postpones two projects

Roadwork DME

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s District 10 office announced a change in dates for bridge repairs on Route 8 in Clay Township.

Repairs were originally scheduled to take place July 13-31 at the intersection of routes 8 and 138. However, Butler County Maintenance postponed work until July 27. It is expected to take until Aug. 14.

There will be temporary traffic signals in place for single lane traffic from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.

PennDOT also announced a change in dates for previously announced work on Shearer Bridge in Butler and Summit townships, initially scheduled for July 16 on Route 422.

Rolling closures will now occur from 7 to 9 p.m. July 22 intermittently in 15-minute intervals. The closures will be at the Route 422 west on-ramp from the interchange with Routes 38 and 68.

Work is weather dependent. In the event of inclement weather, the rolling closures will take place on July 23.
