Jones

Rita L. Jones, 96, of Mars, passed away Monday evening, July 13, 2026, at Concordia of Cranberry.

Born in Freedom, Pa., on March 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Catherine McCullin Kelleher.

Rita had worked as a cook at Thompson’s Restaurant, as a housekeeper at Holiday Inn and as a baker at Sherwood Oaks.

She was a member of LifePointe Alliance Church and she loved to tell others about Jesus, loved her family and her dog, Sophie.

She was the mother of Sandra Lee Rohrer (James), of Simpsonville, S.C., Linda Coccia (David), of Beaver, Mary Lou Worley (Alex), of Gold Canyon, Ariz., Robert H. “Bo” Jones Jr. (Jennifer), of Kernersville, S.C., and Thomas P. (Shirley Minner-Jones), of Evans City; grandmother of Thomas (Kim), Jamie (Heather), Mark (Kim), Laurie (Ken), Brian (Katie), Jill (Mick), Bobby (Michael), Ryan and Alex (Danielle); many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; and sister of Elizabeth “Betsy” Hewitt, of Calcutta, Ohio, and Fred Kelleher, of Rochester, Pa. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henry Jones, whom she married Nov. 25, 1950, and who died on March 12, 1988; by her sister, Barbara Powers; and her brothers, Richard and Francis Kelleher.

JONES — Friends of Rita L. Jones, who died Monday, July 13, 2026, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

Friends will also be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday, July 24, at LifePointe Alliance Church, 997 Route 228, Mars, PA 16046, with the Rev. Jeff Lawther officiating.

Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
