Russell “Russ” Bachman, 81, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

He was born in Butler on Oct. 10, 1944, son of the late Carl and Laurine (Rettig) Bachman.

Russ graduated from Knoch High School, Class of 1962, and furthered his education at Vale Technical Institute. He worked on the family dairy farm and also at Pullman Standard.

Russ was a skilled welder, carpenter, mason and plumber. He was a founding partner in Bachman Contractors, LLC. Russ loved his family. He was a hard worker and loyal friend. He enjoyed both playing and watching sports, especially football. Russ was a lifelong hunter and was always so happy to be out in the woods. He was strong in his faith and a longtime member of Summit Presbyterian Church.

Russ was the beloved husband of Beverly (Sheakley) Bachman, whom he married Oct. 10, 1964; father of Eric (Cindy) and Mark (Lesley) Bachman; brother of Janet (Tom) Saunders; and grandfather of Elise Bachman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents, Russ was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph (Joan, in 2017) Bachman; and brothers-in-law, Tom Saunders and Allen Sheakley.

BACHMAN — All arrangements for Russell “Russ” Bachman, who died Tuesday, June 23, 2026, were made through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A memorial service is being planned for August.
