Danny King had another big night as Freeport football pounded Valley 44-8 Friday night to improve to 6-1 (2-1 Allegheny 7 Conference).
King accounted for four touchdowns (two passing, one rushing and a pick-six) and finished with 103 passing yards and 72 more on the ground. King’s two most electric plays were a 56-yard dash and the interception, when he caught the ball at the sideline from his safety position then raced more than 40 yards untouched to the house.
South Side 49, Summit Academy 8 — Tristian Byrd scored his first touchdown of the season, but Summit Academy fell 49-8 against visiting South Side on Saturday afternoon. Byrd scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter The Knights (0-7) got 12 carries for 89 yards from Kim Sparks, who tacked on a two-point conversion.
