Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company debuts new logo paying tribute to oil boom past

The new logo for the Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company, which was officially revealed through social media July 1.

Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company debuted its new logo through a social media post on Wednesday, July 1.

“Our new logo represents more than a fresh look — it represents our commitment to preserving our history while continuing to serve our neighbors with professionalism, pride and dedication,” the department wrote in the Facebook post.

The key symbol featured within the new logo is an oil derrick, which represents the Connoquenessing area’s legacy as an oil boom town during the 19th century.

“While those towering derricks no longer dominate our skyline, their legacy remains woven into the identity of Connoquenessing,” the department wrote. “By incorporating an oil derrick into our new logo, we honor the men and women whose efforts helped build our community and recognize the industry that shaped our borough's story.”

Although the logo was officially introduced July 1, it made a cameo appearance in a post from two days earlier advising residents to stay cool during the incoming heat wave.
