Mary Ann McGuire, 63, of Butler, died Thursday, May 28, 2026, after a lengthy illness.

Born July 9, 1962, in Butler, she was the daughter of James L. “Nupe” and Mary Betty (Crawford) Markel.

Mary Ann was a graduate of East Brady High School and Butler County Community College. She worked in orthopedic offices in an administrative role.

On June 13, 2001, Mary Ann married Robert McGuire. Together, they shared a loving union of 25 years.

She will be remembered for being a strong Christian woman of great faith. Mary Ann enjoyed flower gardening, decorating her home for every occasion and loved her pets.

She is survived by her husband, Bob McGuire, of Butler; her mother, Mary Betty Markel, of Seybertown; three sons, Marc (Olivia) Spangler, of Eastville, Va., Drew (Rachel Jones) Spangler, of Butler, and Matthew (Jessie) McGuire, of Leisenring, Pa.; and one daughter, Marissa (Joe) Andrasy, of Templeton.

Mary Ann is also survived by two brothers, Jim (Debbie) Markel and Bob (Amy) Markel; one sister-in-law, Sheila Markel; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; and one brother, Bill Markel.

MCGUIRE — Services for Mary Ann McGuire, who died Thursday, May 28, 2026, will be private and are under the direction of BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, East Brady.

The McGuire family suggests that memorials be made in Mary Ann’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
