A young woman was pulled from a burning house Wednesday morning at 500 Center Ave. in Butler city after being trapped in an upstairs bedroom. A medical helicopter was called to take her to an area hospital.

According to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch, the fire started just before 9:30 a.m. after it received multiple calls reporting it. One of the calls to dispatch indicated someone was entrapped.

Firefighters within 15 minutes had carried the woman from the house. She was loaded into an ambulance with unknown injuries and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital where a helicopter was requested.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the structure around 9:40 a.m. at the intersection of Center and Glenn Avenues.
