Pittsburgh man facing charge in theft
The Northern Regional Police Department filed a theft by deception charge against a Pittsburgh man for allegedly accepting payment for vinyl flooring he posted for sale on Facebook, but not delivering the material.
A resident reported on Oct. 23 that he responded to a Facebook Marketplace ad for 72 boxes of vinyl flooring for sale for $450 and paid Dillon E. Keller, 31, the money through the Zelle digital payment, and talked and texted with Keller, according to an affidavit.
Keller made up excuses for not being able to meet the alleged victim through Dec. 13, police said.
During the investigation police said they learned that three other people paid Keller for flooring through Zelle, but were not able to contact those people to find out if they received flooring from him.
